Recently, the "Reading Forest" jointly created by Pudong New Area and Shanghai Library was officially opened to the public.

It is reported that this forest with an area of ​​20,546 square meters is located on the south side of the East Building of the Shanghai Library (hereinafter referred to as: East Building in the above picture), and is the first forest library in Shanghai.

　　Wang Haitian, deputy director of the Cooperation and Coordination Department of the Reading Promotion Center in the picture above, told reporters that the "Reading Forest" has added facilities such as benches and plank roads on the basis of retaining the original appearance of the forest, and built a micro-space for reading under the forest.

Functionally, this forest is an outdoor extension of the library's indoor functions, effectively extending readers' different reading experience spaces.
