Monday February 20, 2023, France 3 broadcast the film "The Corsican investigation", with Christian Clavier.

The opportunity to return to the private life of the 70-year-old actor.

Because the one who cultivates a certain discretion has a very famous friend: Nicolas Sarkozy.

The two men became friends in the 1990s, following a terrible family drama...

In

L'Enquête Corse,

a film directed in 2004 by Alain Berbérian, Christian Clavier plays the role of another great actor: Jean Reno.

Together, the two actors were able to enjoy the Island of Beauty, a land to which Christian Clavier is particularly attached.

The member of the Splendid troupe certainly appreciates the sun there, which is lacking in Neuilly-sur-Seine, his town of origin.

A meeting in dramatic circumstances

It was in this chic suburb of the Paris region that Christian Clavier met the man who would become one of his closest friends: Nicolas Sarkozy.

The former President of the Republic was indeed mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine in the 1990s. And it was "thanks" to this function that the two men met in dramatic circumstances... At the time, Jean-Claude Clavier, Christian Clavier's father, lived in Neuilly.

One day, her son panicked because he had disappeared.

Desperate, the actor had ended up calling the town hall to find his father, who had in fact suffered a heart attack in his car.

"It is this drama that brought Christian closer to Sarkozy, and not his political opinions",

 few years ago.

Christian Clavier left France in 2012

Having become very close friends with Nicolas Sarkozy, Christian Clavier had therefore naturally supported him during his presidential campaign in 2007. This position having earned him numerous criticisms, the actor had resigned himself to leaving France five years later, in 2012, to settle in London.

Carla Bruni's husband had just lost the presidential election to François Hollande.

According to information from our colleagues from

 Nord Eclair,

Christian Clavier would have left London in 2018 to settle near Brussels, in Belgium.
