The Suzhou Bay Museum, located in the southern district of the cultural center, has become a place for Internet celebrities since its official opening in January this year.

  With the mission of collecting, protecting, inheriting and developing, and revitalizing the historical and cultural heritage of Wujiang, Suzhou Bay Museum integrates the functions of display, cultural experience, public education, scientific research, exchange and cooperation, and is committed to creating a new space for Wujiang culture that connects ancient and modern times.

The museum has 6 floors above ground, with a construction area of ​​26,000 square meters and an exhibition area of ​​5,700 square meters.

The public space is equipped with multi-functional areas such as educational activity rooms, public reading rooms, academic lecture halls, and cultural and creative stores.

  Walking into the museum, a huge crack in the shape of a valley comes into view, which symbolizes the beginning of people's exploration and discovery into the long river of history.

Small windows are designed on the outer wall of the museum. When the weather is good, the bright sunlight will sprinkle patches of light in the exhibition hall.

At present, the Suzhou Bay Museum has more than 20,000 pieces of cultural relics, ranging from the Majiabang, Songze, and Liangzhu culture periods of the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern times, including pottery, porcelain, jade, stone, bronze, calligraphy and painting. , coins and other categories.

  Wujiang has a long history and a collection of humanities. It has cultural cards such as silk, canals, ancient towns, and river villages, and has bred a large number of historical and cultural celebrities.

Located on the fourth floor of the museum, "Wu Yun Jiangnan - Wujiang History and Culture Exhibition" is a window that reflects the history and culture of Wujiang. The pieces (sets) of collection tell about the development and changes of Wujiang from the Neolithic Age to modern times for more than 7,000 years, showing the elegant and timeless Jiangnan charm.

  The bronze statue with thorn pattern in the Spring and Autumn Period is a representative of the early Wu culture. As a product of the combination of the Yangtze River culture and the Taihu culture, it has witnessed the development of early civilizations in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

Different from the style of Zun in the Central Plains, the Zun under the background of Wu culture has a unique decoration - thorns.

This bronze statue was unearthed in Jiulihu Village, Tongli Town, Wujiang District. Its abdomen is covered with thorns, and it is presumed to be a wine vessel.

  "Toon Tree and Two Sparrows" is the "treasure of the town hall" of Suzhou Bay Museum.

This is the masterpiece of Tang Yin, one of the "Four Masters of Wumen" in the Ming Dynasty, in his later years.

Ink and color on silk, 49.3 cm long and 30.6 cm wide.

The whole picture is based on the "court style" and also incorporates the meaning of "literati painting". The work is relaxed and the brushwork is skillful.

The branches of the toon tree are like antlers, smooth and straight, and the leaves are made of ink dots, which are well arranged.

On the picture there is a poem written by Tang Yin himself: "The head is like garlic and the eyes are like pepper. The male and the female fly to Wei Xiao. Don't let the mantis lose its nest. Some people will not spare them."

  In addition, there are precious cultural relics in the museum, such as Ming Yongle blue-and-white peony lingkou porcelain basin, Jin Dynasty Cizhou kiln white glaze black flower peony pattern tiger pillow and so on.

In modern Wujiang, the textile industry is well developed and presents a scene of prosperity.

At the entrance of the "Entering Modern Society" exhibition area, modern theaters, stations, schools, etc. are displayed in the form of restored scenes. On the big screen of the theater, fragments of some old movies from the 1920s and 1930s are played in rotation.

  The Wujiang section of the canal is an important part of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. There is an ancient canal trail here, which is one of the heritage sites of the World Cultural Heritage Grand Canal.

Based on the elements of silk and canals, Suzhou Bay Museum planned the opening exhibition "Zhouche Silk Road", which brought together 166 pieces (sets) of fine cultural relics from Gansu Provincial Museum, Nanjing Museum, Lanzhou Museum and other museums, divided into ancient roads 4 units, commerce, integration, and access, present the economic and cultural exchanges between China and other regions, Jiangnan and Mobei in different periods, and tell the rise and fall of cities on the Silk Road Canal, economic and trade exchanges, customs and customs.

  It is reported that this year Suzhou Bay Museum will present a cultural feast, including three series of boutique exhibitions: the "National Treasure Visit" series that showcases the treasures of great powers, the "Parallel Jiangnan" series that interprets Jiangnan culture, and the "Boya Wujiang" that highlights the collections of Wujiang Museum series.
