In 1983, the then 16-year-old Carola Häggkvist stood on the Melodifestivalen stage and performed "Främling" for the first time.
Since then, she has become one of Sweden's most popular artists.
- This breakthrough in the 80s is something I still carry with me today, so even when I sing "Stranger" all these feelings and memories come to the fore.
Celebrating 40 with Carolafest
Throughout 2023, she will celebrate her 40 years in the spotlight through the musical styles of pop, rock, musical and gospel.
- Now I'm finally going to make a dream that's completely unique, I'm going to invite the audience and myself to four different musical faces in different places where it suits.
I will offer pop at the Avicii Arena, rock at rock clubs, gospel at the churches and musicals at the concert halls, throughout the year.
A Carolafest simply.
First up are rock concerts in Malmö and Gothenburg, followed by a pop concert in Stockholm.
After a big summer tour, the year ends with two different concert evenings where gospel and musicals are in focus.
