[Explanation] Passing through the turbulent and bleak, continuous sandy mountains, it takes about 1 hour to reach the intermediate station of the Northwest Caibei Crude Oil Pipeline, which is more than 50 kilometers away from Huatugou Town.
The altitude here is 3027 meters. It is dry and hypoxic all the year round, and there is a lot of wind and sand. There is no social support in the surrounding area, and there is no communication signal to the outside world.
The closed gathering and transportation system was officially put into operation in 2019, which also changed the history that the oil produced in the Nanyishan oil production area was transported out by cars.
[Explanation] During the process of transporting crude oil from the Nanyishan Gathering Station to the Joint Station of the Huatugou Third Oil Production Plant, there are three stations for heating and cleaning the pipeline to prevent the crude oil from clogging the pipeline due to the wax precipitated at low temperature.
There is only one person on duty for the 79-kilometer pipeline, which is replaced every two months, and Xiong Hailin is one of them.
This year is his fourth year working in the intermediate station. Every day, he needs to drive to inspect the pipelines and boilers, and regularly receive and send pigs.
He seems to be very adapted to this job now, but it was actually quite difficult at first.

The construction of the station came in 2019. In the early stage, I knew that I was guarding the station alone. After I came here, I was indeed a little lonely than I imagined, and the work was boring every day. Every day was patrol inspection and line inspection, looking at the parameters of the boiler and natural gas. These parameters, and then the daily line inspection to see if the pipeline is fine.

Originally, I also liked to play with flowers and plants at home. The salinity here is relatively high, so I just wanted to see if I could grow them. As a result, I did not expect to plant two pots in the first year, and they grew quite well. After the second year, I planted them on a large scale. I planted some flowers and plants, and after finishing work, I took care of the flowers and plants and planted vegetables. I felt that the days went by quite quickly, and there was enough anyway. This feeling.
The surrounding area (visible) is all loess. After the flowers are planted, the flowers bloom quite beautifully in July and August when they come back from the tour. Anyway, when I come back to see these things, there are trees and flowers, and I feel better.

It was really hard to get used to it when I first came here, but there are always people doing this job. After I came here, I gradually got used to it, and I didn't feel so lonely.

He misses his family in his heart and is with his "partner" by his side.
