Regarding the vaccination of the new corona vaccine from April this year, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will continue the current free vaccination, and the elderly who are at high risk of becoming seriously ill will be vaccinated from spring to summer, and from autumn to winter. It turns out that we are adjusting in the direction of inoculating everyone, including the elderly.

The new corona vaccine is positioned as a ``special temporary vaccination'' as an urgent need to prevent the spread of the virus, and free vaccinations are being given until the end of March.

From April onwards, the government will continue to make it possible to receive necessary vaccinations at no cost, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has entered into coordination to continue the current "special temporary vaccination" until March next year. This is what I learned from interviews with stakeholders.

In addition, regarding the timing and number of vaccinations, in order to reduce the number of severely ill people, elderly people who are at high risk of becoming seriously ill can be vaccinated from spring to summer if they wish, and the elderly can also be vaccinated. It is the direction to inoculate from autumn to winter for all people who wish.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will discuss it at a subcommittee of experts to be held on the 22nd, and will make a formal decision early next month.
