A joint exercise between the Ground Self-Defense Force and the US Marine Corps, which assumes the defense of remote islands, was held in Oita Prefecture on the 18th.

A total of 1,700 people, including the Ground Self-Defense Force and the US Marine Corps stationed in Okinawa, participated in this joint training, and it has been held in Kyushu and Okinawa since the 16th.



On the 18th, part of the training was open to the press at Hijudai Exercise Area in Oita Prefecture, with the assumption that Japan and the United States would jointly recapture the invaded remote islands.



The Marines landed on the ground using transport planes such as the Osprey and helicopters, and confirmed procedures for Japanese and American personnel to work together to reach the front lines.
