Around the epicenter of the earthquake, the mountainous and snowy region of Adiyaman, in southern Turkey, was badly affected by the disaster.

Its inhabitants lack everything, and in particular care.

Faced with the need for urgent care, voluntary associations come to the bedside of populations living in remote villages in Turkey.

A new tour is being prepared for Mahmut Gündesli, a French doctor, and his colleagues who deliver medical care every day in the villages around Adiyaman.

"These people need food, basic care, we go there because they can't move and the health system is no longer responding," explains Mahmut Gündesli.

Added to the lack of care are the severely degraded hygiene conditions.

The care provided by Mahmut and his team often requires hospital follow-up, which is not the responsibility of volunteers.

They often find themselves distraught.

According to the WHO, the looming health crisis could cause even more damage than earthquakes.
