On the poster of the film "Stop with your lies" which will be released in theaters on February 22, Victor Belmondo, grandson of the illustrious Jean-Paul Belmondo, answers questions from Pierre de Vilno in "Europe Soir Week-end ".

The 29-year-old actor talks about the cinema he likes to make, not necessarily in line with the one who notably interpreted "The Professional".

He is the poster of a film which deals, in particular, with the question of homosexuality in the 1980s. Victor Belmondo, the grandson of Jean-Paul Belmondo, is the guest of Pierre de Vilno in

Europe Weekend evening

.

In

Stop With Your Lies

, in theaters from February 22, an adaptation of an autobiographical novel by Philippe Besson who is also directing the film, the 29-year-old actor plays the role of Lucas.

A role that seems far from those who made the fame of his illustrious grandfather.

So, will he play characters closer to the

Marginal

or even the

Professional

 in his career?

"I don't know. He's the one who made (these films), it's his career, his path", replies Victor Belmondo at the microphone of Europe 1.

"What I do belongs to me"

The young actor intends to chart his course, even if he remains an admirer of Jean-Paul Belmondo's filmography.

"What he did belongs to him, and it's magnificent. And me, what I do and what I will do, belongs to me and will belong to me. These are two different paths", believes Victor Belmondo, confident that it was Martin Scorsese's films with Robert De Niro that made him want to get into the cinema.

"What is beautiful with Victor is that not only does he not deny at all his heritage and the lineage to which he belongs and of which he is very proud - he is right to be proud of it -, and at the same time he knew how to take the right distance”, shares Philippe Besson, the director of the film

Stop with your lies

, at the microphone of Pierre de Vilno.

"I think that after this film, we will call him Victor and not necessarily Belmondo", he adds on Europe 1. First elements of response from February 22.
