A Chinese company executive was arrested for fraudulently logging in to another person's account for the smartphone payment service "LINE Pay" and purchasing products at a convenience store.

It is believed that he was a driver who bought goods, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details.

He denies the allegations against the investigation.

Arrested was Lin Li (44), a Chinese national who is an executive of a trading company living in Yokohama.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, in October 2016, he illegally logged into the account of a man in his 50s from Hiroshima who used the LINE Pay smartphone payment service, and purchased 11,600 yen worth of heat-not-burn cigarettes at a convenience store in Yokohama. Suspicions of fraud have been raised as defrauded.

It is believed that the abused IDs and passwords were stolen by a method called "phishing".

The defrauded heated cigarettes were sold at high prices in China, and it seems that they were intended to be resold.

The company executive is believed to be a driver who has already been arrested, and has denied the charges, saying, ``I don't remember'' in response to the investigation.

Regarding "LINE Pay", about 200 accounts were logged in illegally in October 2018, and it was confirmed that about 7.3 million yen worth of products were defrauded. It is suspected that he was involved in the damage of 1.6 million yen.
