Canal Toros will stop broadcasting.

Closes.

That's the news.

Movistar has made the decision, without going back, after the companies from

Las Ventas, Plaza 1, and La Maestranza, Pagé

s, have reached agreements with the new OneToro platform, still under development, to broadcast their seasons during the next three years, the fairs of San Isidro and Abril.

Lost the two jewels in the crown with the economic offers on the table, Movistar has decided to close its bullfighting theme channel.

It will make it official in the next few hours.

The disappearance of

Canal Toros

, vital in the economic structure of bullfighting in the last 10 years, especially during the harsh pandemic, creates a panorama of uncertainty until OneToro puts its project on its feet and its operation is verified.

The

fuse of the bomb that is now exploding

was lit in September with the breakdown of negotiations between the Las Ventas company, Plaza 1, headed by Rafael García Garrido, and Ignacio Frauca, director of Canal Toros.

The Autumn Fair was left without television coverage for the first time.

That was the signal, the seed or the spark that lit the fuse of what would explode this winter.

At the San Isidro gala (February 1), the news broke that OneToro -together with Telemadrid, present in 14 of the 23 isidrile bullfights- would be the platform that took over the rights to the first place in the world,

with

the San Isidro fair as the jewel in the crown.

The blow for Canal Toros would be followed by the final puntillazo when, also with an offer on the table, Sevilla now lost, outbid once again by OneToro and with no possibility of a counter-offer.
