[Commentary] On February 5th, Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Fo Guang Shan in Taiwan and the founder of International Buddha Light Association, passed away in Kaohsiung.

On the 12th, people from all walks of life in Hunan spontaneously came to the Li Zijian Art Museum in Changsha, where Master Xingyun was concerned before his death, to commemorate this religious master who was committed to promoting humanistic Buddhism, promoting cross-strait exchanges, enthusiastically advocating social welfare, and developing education.

　　Li Zijian, a painter based in the United States and curator of the Li Zijian Art Museum, accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency.

　　My fate with the master was in 1991, I still remember that day, it was March 29th.

I have been in Los Angeles, USA for 3 years, but it is still difficult.

Because my language is not good, and I have no money, as an international student, I am stuck and confused (right) about my future.

At that time, I wanted to hold an exhibition at Master Hsing Yun's (Los Angeles) Xilai Temple, and an overseas Chinese leader accompanied me there, so I met Master Hsing Yun for the first time.

Unexpectedly, this meeting changed the fate of my life and made it to today.

　　[Explanation] Li Zijian recalled that at that time, he brought some pictures of his works to Master Xingyun to watch. When Master Xingyun saw the work "Pregnant", he said that he had seen this work a few months ago, and Always looking for an author.

Because this painting well showed the charm of human love, which left a deep impression on him.

　　When master Xingyun learned of Li Zijian's plight in the United States, he readily offered to support him in creating 100 works so that he could fully develop his painting and not be buried.

This made Li Zijian very surprised and pleasantly surprised.

Moreover, Master Xingyun also specially gave up his residence in the United States to Li Zijian for use.

In the following 500 days and nights, Li Zijian fulfilled his agreement with Master Xingyun.

　　It also includes the most important work "Nanjing Massacre", all of which the master asked me to paint.

Because the master is a victim and witness of the Nanjing Massacre, he wants us to always remember this disaster, and China must be strong, so he has to draw a warning work to inspire the people of the country, or not to forget the national humiliation, to revitalize Our nation, country.

　　[Explanation] Later, with the support of Master Xingyun, Li Zijian took these works and started the "Humanity and Love·Global Tour Exhibition".

Over the past few decades, these works have been displayed in more than 30 countries and regions and the United Nations Headquarters, dialogue with the world, and spread the great love and meaning in them.

　　Every time I come back, I will always report to him, tell him these anecdotes along the way, these things and these influences, the master feels very gratified every time.

　　[Explanation] Li Zijian said that in 2014, Master Xingyun knew that he wanted to give back to the society and built an art gallery to promote the exchange of art between the East and the West and spread the news of great love. At that time, the 87-year-old master came here in person Go to the site to lay the foundation for the museum, and always keep in mind the construction progress of the museum.

　　However, when the Li Zijian Art Museum was completed two years later, Venerable Hsing Yun unfortunately lost his memory due to illness and regretted not being able to come to the opening site.

After two years of fighting against the illness, Master Xingyun recovered some memories. When Li Zijian went to Taiwan to visit him again, Master Xingyun recognized Li Zijian immediately.

　　He told us that he said that what he wanted most was to come to the art museum to see the scene after our construction. This is the happiest thing for him.

Because he is not a personal interest, but a broad mind, filled with the expectations of all living beings, this is Master Hsing Yun in my eyes, he is such a great religionist, thinker, philanthropist, and educator.
