According to the police report, at 19:21 on January 7, 2023, the Zizhong County Public Security Bureau received a report from a member of the public, Deng, saying that her friend Cao Mouying (female, 18 years old) was in an abnormal mood and had suicidal tendencies, but her whereabouts were unknown. Police help.
After the incident, the Zizhong County Public Security Bureau made every effort to organize relevant departments and personnel to search the upstream, downstream and surrounding areas of the incident site, and simultaneously carried out video surveillance investigations, on-site visits and investigations, and verification of related personnel.
During this period, Zizhong County Public Security Bureau opened a case for investigation on January 13.
At about 14:00 on February 7, search personnel found a body in the Tuojiang waters of Group 1 of Nibawan Community, Chonglong Town, Zizhong County. After identification by family members and DNA identification, it was confirmed that the deceased was Cao Mouying, a missing person.
On February 9, comprehensive visits and investigations, on-site investigations, autopsy, and inspection and identification showed that the deceased was consistent with the characteristics of drowning death during his lifetime, and homicide was excluded.
The Zizhong County Public Security Bureau has notified the family members of the relevant investigation results, and the family members have no objection to the investigation results.
