His dream was a Ministry of Intelligence and Beauty, once proposed to President François Mitterrand.
Jack Lang did not realize this one, but many others which make him the greatest Minister of Culture since André Malraux.
Born in 1939, Lang is at the initiative of the National Music and Heritage Festivals, a central player in major Mitterrandian works (Grand Louvre, Arche de La Défense, Opéra Bastille, National Library of France, etc.) and also in the Arab World Institute (IMA), which he has chaired since 2013.
