Regarding the launch of the first unit of Japan's new flagship rocket "H3", JAXA = Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency announced that it will be held at the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 15th of this month, saying that the rocket is ready for flight. .

"H3" is the successor to the current main rocket "H2A", and JAXA announced that the first launch will be at 10:37 am on the 15th of this month at the Tanegashima Space Center.

The plan was to launch on the 12th of this month, but the schedule was adjusted due to the postponement of the launch of H2A last month and the need to confirm the flight system of H3.

With a total length of 63 meters, the "H3" is the largest in Japan. With the aim of competing overseas in the rocket launch business, the weight that can be carried into space will be increased to about 1.3 times that of the "H2A", and the launch cost will be reduced to about half of the current level. According to the plan, JAXA and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries started development nine years ago.

As a result of development difficulties such as unexpected vibrations being confirmed in the new main engine, the launch of the first machine was postponed twice from the original fiscal year 2020, and the development cost exceeded 200 billion yen.

The first satellite will be equipped with the earth observation satellite "DAICHI-3", which is expected to be used for understanding disaster situations.

Attention will be paid to whether it will make a smooth start as a new domestically produced main rocket.
