[Explanation] In recent years, a batch of foods added with hyaluronic acid have appeared on the market, and "eating watery skin" has become a major selling point.

On a certain shopping platform, many sellers are selling such products.

The reporter randomly clicked on the link of a hyaluronic acid drinking water, and found that its advertisement implied that the hyaluronic acid contained in the product can replenish water to the skin, and it is recommended to drink it every day.

[Explanation] Is this a new way of beauty or an "IQ tax"?

In this regard, experts said that the statement that hyaluronic acid food can have a cosmetic effect is open to question.

When hyaluronic acid appears in health care products, it is allowed to claim that it can improve skin moisture, which is not a violation of the claim.

But when it is used in ordinary food, it will say that after I drink it myself, I will be able to drink water and smooth skin. This is just playing around.

The final metabolites of hyaluronic acid in the human body are carbon dioxide and water. It is a very hydrophilic tissue component, and then it is metabolized in the joint fluid and in our eyeballs. It is actually a very basic component.

If these products, your starting point is to improve the skin, then if they are absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, how much residue can they really enter our skin barrier?

It may be one billionth or less, and it may be more of a psychological comfort.

[Explanation] Li Weiwei further explained that hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronic acid, is currently widely used in the field of medical beauty, but not through direct consumption.

The supplementation of hyaluronic acid in medical aesthetics should still be a method of smearing or transdermal drug delivery, and for example, we do volume filling and deep injection, which is more reasonable.

Because when hyaluronic acid (product) was first used, its indication was to improve the deformity of our nasolabial folds for filling.

The second largest part is the management of the skin, the tissue filling (supplementation) of the skin.

For our on-site products, it may be what we call water light needles, which can improve skin quality, supplement the basic ingredients our skin needs, and achieve the purpose of increasing the moisture content of the skin and improving the brightness of the skin.

[Explanation] The reporter's inquiry found that in 2021, the National Health and Medical Commission will expand the use of hyaluronic acid from the health food approved in 2008 to milk and dairy products, beverages, alcohol, etc.

Experts pointed out that in theory, there is no problem in taking hyaluronic acid within the safe dosage range, but some people are not suitable for consumption.

At the same time, it is suggested that the public should not have too much expectations for such products, and it is more important to develop healthy living habits.

The allowed daily dose should not exceed 200 mg. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants and young children have insufficient safety evidence for taking hyaluronic acid. Therefore, these three groups of people should not take hyaluronic acid orally based on the principle of risk prevention.

Only when we eat a balanced diet, get enough sleep, have a good mood, and exercise moderately, can our skin be supple and supple.

Just relying on hyaluronic acid, no matter if you apply it, apply it, or eat it, it can't meet your psychological expectations.
