Vladimir Sedov, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Member of the Russian Historical Society, Chief Researcher of the Department of Medieval Archeology of the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, made this statement.

According to him, there are very good restorers and archaeologists in Russia who are ready to help restore destroyed ancient objects. 

“If there is a request for help from Turkish and Syrian colleagues, with whom we have good relations, of course, we will be ready to help restore what has been lost,” Sedov said.

Earlier it was reported that UNESCO will attract experts to assess the affected heritage sites in Syria and Turkey.

Also, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that more than nine thousand people were involved in rescue work after the earthquake.

The Newinform edition reported that more than 100 rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry arrived in Turkey to help in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Specialists brought the tools necessary for search and rescue operations.
