It is currently known as the earliest set of leather armor discovered from the late Western Zhou Dynasty to the early Spring and Autumn Period. After the restoration is completed, it will provide a good basis for the evolution of our ancient Chinese weapon history.

[Explanation] In 1980, Fang Guorong entered the Hubei Provincial Museum to work on bronze restoration.

Influenced by his father, Fang Chen also has a strong interest in restoration of cultural relics. Since 2009, he has followed his father to learn restoration skills.

[Explanation] Cultural relics are precious and rare, and restoration is extremely difficult.

Fang Chen said that for restorers, they should be in awe and give them "new life" on the basis of respecting the original appearance of cultural relics.

Using better technical means and more advanced materials to get a better protection and make it last better is the purpose of our work.

[Explanation] Fang Chen is still deeply impressed by the experience of father and son working together to restore Zenghou and Yongzhong.

[Explanation] Zenghou and Yongzhong were unearthed in Suizhou, Hubei in 2009. When they were unearthed, they were seriously damaged. There were only 8 fragments left, so it was extremely difficult to restore.

Fang Chen introduced that in the restoration process, the application of 3D scanning technology and 3D printing technology combined with traditional techniques can "restore the original appearance" of severely damaged and deformed cultural relics and reappear their former style.

During this restoration, Fang Chen personally felt that technology is playing an increasingly important role in the field of cultural relic restoration.

Fang Chen said that he will inherit his father's will and devote himself to the restoration of cultural relics, so that more cultural relics can be seen again and reappear in splendor.
