After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic and restrictions, Melodifestivalen is back on its usual tour around the country.

This year's festival tour begins on Saturday at Scandinavium in Gothenburg.

Then it will be Linköping, Lidköping, Malmö and Örnsköldsvik that host the partial competitions before the final is decided at the Friends arena in Stockholm.

Hosts this year are Farah Abadi and comedian Jesper Rönndahl.

The artist Linda Bengtzing leads this year's pre-party and after-party.

Club pop, mello veterans and epadunk

In tomorrow's sub-competition, seven entries will compete for the final places and first in the starting field will be Tone Sekelius, who debuted in last year's Melodifestival with the song "My way".

This year's entry "Rythm of my show" describes Tone Sekelius as a clubby pop song and is very different from last year's.

- There is much more attitude than last year, she tells SVT.

Epadunken also enters with Elov & Beny's contribution "Raggen går", which promises party, sweat and high tempo.

Other performers include well-known returnees such as Jon Henrik Fjällgren along with Arc north feat. Adam Woods, Loulou LaMotte and Victor Crone.

But also a debutant, Talang finalist Rejhan who competes with the song "Haunted".

Cornelia Jakob's guests

The evening opens with aerial acrobats, hat jugglers and roller skaters in an opening act by the world's oldest touring circus, Brazil Jack.

In addition to the competition entries, Cornelia Jakobs will also be a guest in the interlude and perform last year's winning entry "Hold me closer".

The Melodifestivalen will be broadcast live on SVT1 at 20:00 and can also be seen on SVT Play.
