In the past few days, when the finless porpoise assistance patrol team of Poyang County, Shangrao, Jiangxi Province was patrolling the core protection area of Longkou finless porpoise in Lianhu Township, Poyang County, they found groups of finless porpoises playing. According to statistics, there are about 100 finless porpoises playing.

When the patrol team was patrolling the core protection waters of Longkou finless porpoise in Poyang Lake, they found groups of finless porpoises haunting them. Frolicking in the water, it looks extremely flexible.

What is especially gratifying is that many small dolphins were found chasing and foraging with the big dolphins this time.

Mao Guoqi, a member of the finless porpoise assisting patrol team, introduced, "Generally in the Lianhu Reserve, when we patrol the lake, we can see three or five groups of finless porpoises playing in the water every day. When we see them, our team members are very happy. I took out my phone and took a picture of it.”

It is understood that the finless porpoise is a national first-class protected animal. Its body is lead gray or off-white, its head is blunt and round, and its forehead bulges slightly forward. It likes to move alone, and sometimes 3 to 5 go together.

The population of finless porpoises is about 1,000, more than half of which are distributed in the waters of Poyang Lake.

In order to better protect the finless porpoise, the Longkou waters of Poyang Lake in Poyang County have been included in the Poyang Lake Yangtze River Porpoise Provincial Nature Reserve by the provincial government.
