The decision was announced in November.

But it is this Wednesday, February 1 that the increase in the prices of TER trains in Pays-de-la-Loire comes into force.

This had not happened since 2019. The increase is not trivial since tickets (full price, mezzo, mobi, etc.) increase by an average of 6%.

Monthly subscriptions go up by 4 euros per month, unlimited subscriptions cost 3.30 euros more per month.

The prices of subscriptions reserved for those under 26 are unchanged.

This increase is mainly motivated by “the context of the energy and economic crisis”.

“The change in tariffs represents an increase in revenue of 8 million euros over a full year.

Faced with a cost increase of 30 million euros.

The Region will therefore bear three quarters of the increase”, justifies the regional council of Pays-de-la-Loire, chaired by Christelle Morançais (ex LR).

School transport in September

Investments for the maintenance and development of public transport, in particular the renovation of TER trains, are also put forward as arguments.

Some 530 TER trains run every day in Pays-de-la-Loire.

This tariff heatstroke, much criticized by the regional left-wing opposition, will also affect school transport from September.

The subscription will cost 4 euros more per month, or 40 euros per year per child.

A free measure will be granted from the third child of a family.
