A baby is born inside a train linking France with Germany

A baby named Felix was born on Sunday morning inside a high-speed train linking France with Germany, according to what the "SNCF" company that operates the train with the German company "Deutsche Bahn" announced on Monday.

At around 8:00 am, one hour after the ICE 9571 train left Paris, the train driver was informed that one of the passengers was having contractions and had lost her water. He, in turn, notified the operation center that runs the eastern high-speed line.

A spokeswoman for the company indicated that an appeal was launched from the train, followed by the presence of a doctor to help the pregnant woman residing in Germany.

The train stopped exceptionally at 8:10 am at Lorraine station in Louvigny, Moselle, so that relief personnel could provide the necessary care for the passenger.

"Due to an emergency, the birth took place inside the train," the spokeswoman said.

She explained that "things went well," and the baby, who was born at 9:10 am, was named Felix, and rescuers took him and his mother to a hospital.

The train, which was supposed to go from Paris to Stuttgart, resumed its journey an hour and twenty minutes late.
