From this Friday, the emergency room of the Cavaillon hospital, in the Vaucluse, will be closed at night for three months.

Thus, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., “patients will not have to go to adult emergencies without regulation from Center 15”, indicated the establishment in a press release relayed by France Bleu Vaucluse.

Only gynecological and obstetrical emergencies remain open all night.

During the day, emergency operations remain unchanged.

The SMUR service and the Medical Center on duty continue to take care of patients without changing their schedules.

According to our colleagues, 20 of the 25 nurses in the emergency department are on sick leave for burnout.

The management would refuse to open an additional post at night.

With this closure, the hospital intends to "consolidate the operation of the emergency room and promote its sustainability".
