There is a heated debate in Egypt about the direction of the "meat industry" to provide it to people

Social networking sites in Egypt witnessed a state of controversy during the past few days, after talking about cultivating meat to overcome the noticeable high prices that the market is currently witnessing, as it is no longer available to many of the poor classes.

The topic was met with many questions mixed with a sense of humor from the pioneers of social media, about how to cultivate it, and will the cultivated meat be the same as the slaughtered meat that the public eats or not?

In response to the many and confusing questions, Dr. Ahmed Jalal, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University, explained that what they are about is a process of cultivating meat and not farming as some thought, pointing out that a number of countries such as Singapore, America, the Netherlands, Israel, and recently Qatar already manufacture meat in laboratories. Currently.

He indicated, according to Al-Arabiya.net, that the stage of producing meat cuts is an idea based on stem cells, which are found in all living organisms, explaining that "meat cultivation is done by taking a group of stem cells from the embryonic stage with a specific technique and then converting them into gene cells." It takes part of it and applies what is called the growth process to form trillions of cells.

Jalal pointed out that "those cells will undergo a specialized process and will be placed in the bioreactor, then they will be multiplied to form tissues, and after that we will collect all the tissues using one of the techniques that help in this matter, through which a piece of meat will be produced."
