While the next municipal elections are due to take place in 2026, the inhabitants of Mouzieys-Teulet, in the Tarn, will soon elect their new mayor.

Georges Puech, who had been at the head of the town since 2020, died at the end of last year, reports Actu Occitanie.

Voters are therefore called to the polls to “proceed with the partial renewal of the municipal council”, mentions a prefectural decree issued on January 18.

The first round of voting will take place on Sunday March 5, the second on Sunday March 12.

As the village has less than 2,000 inhabitants, the election will be by majority vote in two rounds.

Submission of applications to the prefecture

Candidates for the post of mayor must submit their candidacy to the Tarn prefecture, at the office of elections and regulations.

For the first round, the process is to be carried out between Monday February 13 and Thursday February 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For the next round, and only if the number of candidates in the first round is less than the number of seats to be filled, applications can be submitted on Monday March 6 or Tuesday March 7, at the same times, specifies Le Tarn Libre.
