Ahn Ji-seok (41), a member of the electronic group House Rules, was sentenced to probation for drug charges.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Violent Crime Investigation Department announced that it had arrested and indicted a total of 10 people and indicted 7 without detention for violating the Narcotics Control Act (marijuana).

The prosecution has been conducting an intensive investigation into this large-scale drug scandal for about four months since September of last year.

The news that one of the 17 previously indicted drug offenders was male singer A in his 40s aroused curiosity.

Among them, it was revealed that Mr. A was Ahn Ji-seok.

Ahn Ji-seok bought and smoked hemp between March and October 2022, and it was discovered that he had grown hemp in a family living with minor children.

At the time of the discovery, Ahn Ji-seok was found to be in possession of 148g of hemp and was arrested and prosecuted on November 8, 2022.

Ahn Ji-seok, who was handed over to trial, is said to have submitted several statements of self-reflection.

The first trial court sentenced Ahn Ji-seok to two years in prison and three years probation.

Both the prosecution and Ahn Ji-seok have appealed.

Ahn Ji-seok debuted as a member of House Rules in 2007 after working as a street dancer.

House Rulez released hit songs such as 'Do it', 'Mojito', 'Like the First' and 'Home', and won the Best Dance and Electronic Album Award at the 5th Popular Music Awards in 2008.

Aftermoon, the agency of House Rules, said, "We don't know anything about Ahn Ji-seok's drug charges."
