The Razzie Awards have apologized for selecting a 12-year-old child actor for Worst Performance.

On the 25th (local time), Golden Raspberry announced that it would not include actor Ryan Kiera Armstrong of the movie 'Faherstarter' in the final vote.

Golden Raspberry, which selects the 'worst films of the year', recently announced the nominees (works) for 2023.

Among them, controversy arose when Ryan Kiera Armstrong of the movie 'Firestarter' was included in the 'Worst Actress' category.

That's because she was a 12-year-old child actress.

Kiera Armstrong was named alongside adult actors over 20 years old, including Bryce Dallas Howard, Diane Keaton, Kaya Scodelario and Alicia Silverstone.

In response to this news, social media was flooded with criticism from actors and audiences.

Actor Devon Sawa, famous for the movie 'Final Destination', raised his voice on Twitter, saying, "Golden Raspberry is run by people without a soul. Nominate a 12-year-old?"

"Why are kids bullied and put at risk of increasing bullying?" said Julian Hilliard, an 11-year-old child actor who starred in the series "The Conjuring 3" and "Doctor Strange." "It can have a very negative impact on growth. They have crossed the line."

As criticism spread, the Golden Raspberry Awards announced an official position, saying, "From now on, all candidates will be selected from those over the age of 18."

Ryan Kiera Armstrong has yet to comment on the Golden Raspberry Awards' decision.
