New award category to pay tribute to Sweden's most important artists

The previous nine categories have become six.

There will be no awards for this year's pop, rock/metal, dance or hip-hop/r'n'b.

Instead, the nominations are expanded in the broad classes such as artist of the year, song and album.

Also new this year is the P3 Icon award.

- The award should go to an artist who has left an impression and continues to leave an impression on the Swedish music scene, says Tina Mehrafzoon, presenter at P3 and for this year's Gold Gala.

The gala is held in Partille Arena, Tove Lo has the most nominations (three).
