Renowned for its microclimate linked to the Col de la Lombarde, on the border with Italy, Isola 2000 has just set an example.

Between Monday and Tuesday, in just 24 hours, the Alpes-Maritimes resort saw more than a meter of powder fall, an astronomical amount, especially compared to its neighbors in the department.

It now displays, cumulatively, snow depths of between 190 cm, at the bottom of the slopes, and 210 cm, at the highest.

The Mercantour station, whose mayor of Isola Mylène Agnelli posted several videos on Facebook, took advantage of the strong return from the East at the start of the week to strengthen its coverage.

And it might not be quite over.

New snowflakes are still announced for this Wednesday afternoon, before the return of a bright sun at least for the next ten days and temperatures which will (unfortunately) become positive again on Sunday.

The risk of avalanches is high (4/5) and Météo-France has placed the area on yellow alert.
