According to Xinhua News Agency, Jinan, January 25th (Reporters Shao Kun and Zhang Xinyi) This Spring Festival, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is extremely busy.

In order to deliver the goods to the port on time, Yang Baolong, the captain of the container ship "Jiganghuo 0001" run by Jining Energy, and his wife Sun Aihong chose to celebrate the New Year on board.

The sky is slightly bright, Jining Port hangs Liangshan Port under the mist, and the orange light shines on the pier.

The red quay bridge quickly hoisted the container onto the ship, and Yang Baolong drove the container ship slowly away from Liangshan Port, preparing to transport 45 containers full of coal to Longgong Port, and then realized the "river, river and sea" combined transport southward.

In April 2022, Yang Baolong, who has more than 20 years of sailing experience, became the captain of this new energy cargo ship.

Yang Baolong has driven a cement ship, joined a large fleet, and also driven a stand-alone ship.

Today, the LNG new energy ship he drives is quite different from the previous ones.

The living quarters at the stern were "moved" to the bow and replaced by a natural gas storage tank that powered the boat.

The ship is less polluting, quieter and smarter than a diesel ship.

Yang Baolong said that with the help of the navigator on board, it is no longer necessary to test the water level with a bamboo pole as before, and the speed of the ships coming from the opposite side can be seen at a glance.

Moreover, this ship is mainly loaded with containers, so the ship is cleaner.

Coal and grain are the most loaded in containers.

"Taking coal transportation as an example, it used to take a day for the fleet to load, but now it can be loaded in half a day. After the 'San Gai Ji', at Longgong Port, it takes more than 2 minutes to complete the transshipment of a container." Yang Baolong said.

In recent years, the navigation conditions and service capabilities of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal have been improved.

"From Liangshan Port to Longgong Port, the total mileage is more than 80 kilometers. The speed of this ship can reach seven or eight kilometers per hour, and the whole navigation is very smooth." Yang Baolong said.

However, in the past, due to the slow speed of passing through the lock, the deep draft of large ships, and the shallow channel, congestion of ships caused by grounding often occurred.

Yang Baolong recalled that it was necessary to control the draft of the ship within 3 meters, and he did not dare to fill it too full every time he loaded it.

Now, he has never encountered navigation congestion again.

The boat was moored at Longgong Port, and my 15-year-old daughter boarded the boat with Weishan Lake specialties from her hometown.

On New Year's Eve, Yang Baolong's family was reunited on the boat.

Compared with the past, the living conditions on board have been greatly improved.

The living area of about 60 square meters below the driving area is equipped with induction cooker, refrigerator, air conditioner, etc., and the layout is compact and practical.

"Fry two dishes, cook Weishan Lake carp, and have vegetable balls and duck eggs. The whole family is celebrating the New Year together." Yang Baolong said.

Today, the bottom width of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal (Jining-Taierzhuang section) has changed from 45 meters to 60 meters, and the water depth has changed from 3.2 meters to 4.1 meters. 2,000-ton cargo ships can go directly to the Yangtze River from Liangshan Port.

On the third day of the first lunar month, the container ship "Jiganghuo 0001" arrived at Yutai Port.

Yang Baolong started to get busy again.

During the Spring Festival, there are many "new ferrymen" like Yang Baolong. They transfer containers from one port to another, and realize the "river, river and sea" intermodal transport of goods through transport relay.
