Skin care rules in winter.. know them

A Russian doctor reported that there are some important rules and steps to preserve the skin in winter, especially among people who suffer from dehydration and sensitivity due to cold.

Dr. Marina Constantinova explained in an interview with Izvestia newspaper, as reported by Russia Today newspaper, that exposure to low temperatures during a long period is harmful to the skin, especially the exposed parts of it - the face and hands, as the body's first reaction to cold is narrowing of the vessels. blood circulation, because this process reduces the body's loss of heat, but in exchange for this, the hands and face suffer from a lack of nutrients.

Constantinova said, "In addition, severe cold causes the production of special molecules that accumulate in the skin - cytokines, which increases its sensitivity and makes it more vulnerable. And skin crystals that are not visible to the eye during wind blows harm the skin, and changes in temperature slow down regeneration processes. It decreases." The activity of the sebaceous glands and their secretions (sebum) become thicker and stop protecting the skin, which becomes dry, and irritations appear on it.

Based on this, skin moisture should be increased in winter.

This includes oily skin as well, not to mention dry skin that needs moisture more.

The skin should also be cleaned daily and well.

She added, "To clean the skin, alcohol-free products should be used, because alcohol increases skin dryness. Hands and face should also be washed with warm water, because cold water causes dryness and peeling of the skin, while hot water causes cracking."

According to her, exfoliation helps to comprehensively remove pollution from the skin and dead cells.

At this stage, she recommends using soothing products or enzyme powders, as well as soft exfoliants.

This process can be repeated 1-2 per week, adding that when choosing lotions to moisturize the skin, attention should be paid to their composition, as in winter it is preferable to use lotions that contain a higher percentage of fats as well as hyaluronic acid.
