The Minister of Culture and Youth, Noura bint Muhammad Al-Kaabi, said, “The Biennale of Islamic Arts, in its inaugural session, provides a window to celebrate Islamic civilization and its manifestations represented in arts, architecture, music and culture. Affective and aesthetic on the recipient, this exhibition focuses on the status of the first two holy qiblahs and places Makkah Al-Mukarramah as its focus because of its uniqueness and privacy.

This came on the sidelines of Noura Al-Kaabi attending the inauguration of the first Biennale of Islamic Arts, during a ceremony organized in the Pilgrims Hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, and a number of Saudi and international intellectuals and artists.

Noura Al-Kaabi was briefed on what the exhibition, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation under the slogan “The First House”, will host, during the period from the 23rd of this month to the 23rd of next April. From unique opportunities to learn, research and reflect on this type of art, in addition to the valuable artistic dialogues that it will host.

Noura Al Kaabi added: “This artistic event embodies an ideal starting point for introducing the beauty and uniqueness of Arab and Islamic arts, and a platform for dialogue and exchange of cultures.
