To avoid declining revenues, “Netflix” decided to prevent sharing accounts between users

In an unsurprising move, to avoid a decline in revenue, the television broadcasting service “Netflix” decided to prevent users from sharing their accounts, as users would have to pay a password sharing fee to allow more people to use one account.

Although Netflix initially received backlash from users, its earnings reports indicate that such a move will help the company maintain its revenues.

Netflix is currently testing this move in Latin America to deal with diminishing revenues, but after initiating this action in Latin America, the company will consider rolling out the decision outside the region in most countries of the world, according to company reports.

Netflix is scheduled to apply account password sharing fees by the end of March of this year 2023.

And the company announced that if the Netflix password sharing fee is paid, users will not be able to share the account.

Recently, the company suffered a significant loss of revenue due to account password sharing, and many users accessing Netflix from the same account, which reduced the number of subscriptions to the platform, and led to a loss in Netflix accounts.
