Violent crime continues to rock the Stockholm region.

As on the previous days, there were explosions and shootings on Friday and Saturday;

on Saturday night, a 40-year-old man was shot dead on the outskirts of town.

"Gang crime is escalating," said Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

These are people with an extreme potential for violence.

The police said the situation was very tense and such a spiral of violence had never happened before.

Around 100 other officials are to be brought to the capital from the regions to reinforce them.

190 police officers from other police districts had already come to Stockholm.

Several people have been arrested in the past few days, including two youths aged 13 and 14.

They had been in a car chase with the police;

Several weapons were found in her vehicle.

Victims and perpetrators are getting younger and younger, the police said.

In the most recent serious crimes, half of the alleged perpetrators are younger than 18, two-thirds are younger than 20 years.

Police officers compared the situation at Svenska Dagbladet to a terrorist attack.

"It's as if Stockholm was being attacked." Accordingly, the violence is related to turf wars between two drug gangs.

The leader of one group is said to be a 36-year-old man from Uppsala, who used the pseudonym "Kurdish fox" on the Encrochat network.

He is said to be in Turkey and wants to take over parts of the Stockholm drug market.

In addition, there were conflicts between other criminal networks, reports “Aftonbladet”.
