The custom of eating New Year's Eve dinner varies from place to place, but Licheng Fire Rescue Station (hereinafter referred to as "Licheng Station") of Zengcheng Brigade of Guangzhou Fire Rescue Detachment must eat hot pot.

"Because the hot pot can be cooked all the time, it is convenient for the teammates who are out of the police to have a hot New Year's Eve dinner when they come back." At 16:00 on the 21st (New Year's Eve), Licheng Station, who prepared the hot pot New Year's Eve dinner with his teammates Political instructor Zhou Weiliang told reporters.

Zhou Weiliang made dumplings with his family.

The Licheng station team was established in 1968 to undertake the sacred mission of guarding the fire safety of the 366.12 square kilometers of the core area of Zengcheng.

Since the establishment of the team, Licheng Station has won the collective third-class merit four times, and has been awarded a number of provincial and ministerial awards such as the National Advanced Fire Station for Military Training.

According to Zhou Weiliang, years ago, according to the deployment of the detachment and the brigade, Licheng Station strengthened its duty, and implemented pre-preparation in major event venues, concentrated fireworks and firecrackers, urban-rural fringe areas, key blocks, bustling business districts, and transportation hubs. diligent.

Years ago, the Zengcheng Flower Market was held in the North Square of Zengcheng Square. It was the focus of attention at Licheng Station, and teams were sent to take turns to inspect it every morning, afternoon and evening.

"Dingling, dingling", at 16:09 on the 21st, a burst of rapid bells rang. This alarm showed that a gas cylinder flash explosion occurred in a resident's home on Jimei Road, Licheng Street.

Zhou Weiliang, who was making dumplings, threw the half-filled dumplings into a plate. Before he could wash his flour-stained hands, he quickly changed into his equipment and jumped on the fire truck. He took 12 firefighters and left the camp.

On the afternoon of January 21 (New Year's Eve), a gas cylinder exploded in a resident's home, and firefighters from Licheng Station were dispatched to the scene to deal with it.

When Zhou Weiliang and his teammates arrived at the scene, they found that the gas cylinder in the alarmed citizen's home had leaked, the kitchen doors and windows were sealed, and the elderly did not smell the smell. When they were about to start a fire and prepare a New Year's dinner, a flash explosion occurred.

The old man who was going to cook was also cut on his foot by the broken kitchen glass.

Fortunately, the flash explosion did not catch fire and caused no other casualties.

The firefighters at the scene investigated and tested the gas cylinders, learned the cause of the accident, ruled out other dangers to confirm safety, and instructed the citizens on the safety precautions for using gas cylinders before returning to camp.

"Dingling, dingling", at 16:49, another alarm bell sounded, and the trash can suddenly caught fire near the North Square of Zengcheng Square. The fire had melted the plastic trash can.

At that time, six team members from Class 3 of Licheng Station, who were conducting fire safety inspections at the flower market, rushed to the scene a few minutes after receiving the order, and put out the fire in time.

"The police must be dispatched on New Year's Eve", this is the experience of every veteran firefighter at Licheng Station.

During the Chinese New Year, which coincides with winter, a large number of various electric heaters are used, the electricity consumption increases sharply, and the setting off of fireworks and firecrackers and even burning incense and worshiping Buddha have brought more fire safety hazards than usual.

The national fire situation in 2021 released by the National Fire and Rescue Bureau shows that the fire peak during the Spring Festival is the peak of the year, especially the fire on New Year's Eve is nearly three times the usual.

On the afternoon of January 21 (New Year's Eve), firefighters from Licheng Station inspected food stalls in Zengcheng Flower Market.

It is precisely because of this that Zhou Weiliang came to Licheng Station for 16 years. Except for returning to his hometown in Jiangxi for the New Year during the two training periods, he spent 14 years at the team station.

The same is true of other firefighters at Licheng Station. He said, "Firefighters don't have holidays during the Chinese New Year, unless it's a rotation."

At around 18:00, the steaming hot pot was served on the table. The beef balls and mutton in the pot were already cooked, and golden cornflakes rolled into the soup surface from time to time, overflowing with aroma.

The ingredients to be cooked on the table include chicken nuggets, crispy fish fillets, fresh shrimp, lettuce, coriander, etc. The staple food is the dumplings made by everyone in the afternoon and cooked at the end.

Firefighters at Licheng Station set up a live broadcast device in the restaurant, and ate "Yunnian meal" with their relatives through the live broadcast.

At this time, Zhou Weiliang, who went out to the police twice in a row from 16:09, also returned to the camp, and finally sat down to have a warm New Year's Eve dinner with his wife and daughter who came to celebrate the New Year with the team.

In addition to eating hot pot, in order to alleviate the homesickness of the team members, this year Licheng Station also set up a live broadcast device in the team restaurant, allowing firefighters to "reunite" with their families in the live broadcast room. Raised Coke and Sprite, "Cheers" across the screen, and had a "Yunnian meal" with the family.
