On the evening of the 21st, a passenger ship carrying a total of nine passengers and crew on the Oki Islands in Shimane Prefecture ran aground in shallow water while sailing, and one passenger was slightly injured.

Although the passenger ship had a hole in its hull and was flooded, it was towed by another ship and arrived at a port in the Oki Islands.

Around 6:00 pm on the 21st, about 1.2 km off the northeast of Nishinoshima in the Oki Islands, the passenger ship "Isokaze" operated by Oki Kanko in Nishinoshima Town ran aground and could not move.



According to the Oki Islands Coast Guard Station, there were nine passengers and crew on board the passenger ship, all of whom were rescued after being transferred to other ships dispatched by the operating company.



A female passenger in her 20s suffered a minor cut on her lip in the accident.



When it ran aground, there was a hole in the hull and it was flooded, but it was towed by another ship and arrived at a port in the Oki Islands after 8:00 pm.



The passenger ship was about 16.5 meters long and had a gross tonnage of about 19 tons, and was en route from Chiburi Island in Chibu Village to Nakanoshima in Ama Town.



The Japan Coast Guard is investigating the ship's hull and interviewing the crew to determine the cause of the grounding.
