[Explanation] In Pingxiang City, Chongzuo City, Guangxi, the "South Gate of China", there is a "National Flag Patrol Team" to ensure the safety of border power supply.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, Deng Yiqiang, a member of the team, and three colleagues carried out inspections and maintenance of power supply across the board, "overcoming obstacles" all the way.
It has been 30 years since Deng Yiqiang retired from the border guards and gave up his job opportunity in his hometown of Guilin to plant his roots in the border of the motherland.

[Explanation] Pingxiang City borders Vietnam. It used to be an important military town, but now it is a convenient land passage from China to ASEAN.
In 1974, the "National Flag Inspection Team" of China Southern Power Grid was established.
After 49 springs and autumns, five generations of electric power workers have left deep footprints on the border corridors.
[Explanation] In the past, when patrolling the border area, because there was no uniform and standardized dress, electric workers would encounter border guards and soldiers to check their identity.
Therefore, the class members put a national flag in the tool bag so that they can identify themselves when they are checked.
Since then, the national flag has become the most distinctive symbol of this team.
To this day, they still retain the habit of carrying the national flag with them when patrolling the line, and the pattern of the five-star red flag is also printed on their helmets and armbands.
[Explanation] Along with the economic take-off in the frontier, the five generations of the "National Flag Patrol Squad" have personally experienced the protection of electricity in the battlefield, the construction of power grids across minefields, and the upgrading of rural power grids several times.
Today, the number of 10kV transmission lines on the Pingxiang border has increased from 3 in 1974 to 40, with a length of 830 kilometers, covering every corner of the southern border like capillaries.
The "National Flag Patrol Squad" has patrolled about 200,000 kilometers in total.

The national flag represents a country, and the sense of responsibility must be greater. What we are doing now is power supply inspection and maintenance, and we (tasks before the Spring Festival) are basically done.
During the (Spring Festival) holiday, our team has 4 people on duty in the first, second, and third grades, and they are on duty 24 hours a day to ensure that the people have a peaceful Spring Festival.
[Explanation] The current 12 members of the class continue the responsibilities and missions of their predecessors to provide power supply guarantee for the construction of the Chongzuo area of the Guangxi Pilot Free Trade Zone and the construction of Pingxiang, the largest port for fruit import and export in China and ASEAN.
As the Spring Festival is approaching, trucks carrying ASEAN fruits, agricultural products and other New Year’s goods line up at the customs clearance ports, and a large number of industrial products produced in China are also waiting to be exported.
Many power cords produced by an electronics company in the Pingxiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone are exported overseas.

We have orders and plans every month, and we have delivery dates for how many products we deliver to customers. If we cannot guarantee our normal power supply, our delivery dates will not be met, otherwise the plan will not be completed, resulting in our entire production The plan is chaotic, as long as it (grid) guarantees our electricity consumption, we can complete the delivery to the customer on time.
[Explanation] Zhou Kun said that with the optimization of epidemic prevention and control policies, factory orders are expected to increase. It is believed that with good power protection, the current three production lines will gradually increase to nine to achieve full-load operation.
