The University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa Prefecture has revealed that information such as graduate school entrance exam questions and student grades stored in the cloud service can be viewed by everyone in the university.

We will not change the graduate school pass/fail decision.

According to the University of the Ryukyus, 304 files saved in "Teams" could be viewed.

This includes graduate school entrance exam questions and written answer sheets, as well as the grades of enrolled students and the names and email addresses of 901 students and staff.

A student who noticed that the file could be viewed freely contacted the university on October 6 last year.

Due to the fact that information sharing was limited and passwords were not set, measures were taken by October 11 last year to prevent anyone other than those concerned from viewing.

So far, it has not been confirmed that personal information has been used illegally or leaked outside the university.

In addition, as a result of the investigation, no fraud was found in the graduate school entrance examination, so the pass/fail decision will not be changed.

The University of the Ryukyus commented, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to everyone involved. In response to this situation, we will do our utmost to further strengthen information management and prevent recurrence." increase.
