On the morning of the 18th, the patrol boat "Echigo" belonging to the Niigata Coast Guard ran aground in shallow water off the coast of Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture.

Although there were no injuries among the 33 crew members, the ship was flooded and the Coast Guard is investigating the situation in detail.

At around 6:30 am on the 18th, a crew member of the Niigata Coast Guard patrol boat "Echigo" contacted us saying that it had run aground in shallow water.



According to the Niigata Coast Guard Office, the 33 crew members were not injured, but the ship was flooded with oil floating around.



The site is shallow water about 1.1 kilometers northwest of Shiiyabana Lighthouse in Kashiwazaki City.



The weather at that time was rainy and the wind speed was about 11 meters.
