For the 17th year in a row, Emirates Today continues its efforts to alleviate the suffering of the needy, relieve the distressed, provide medicine and treatment for needy patients, and help students who are unable to continue their studies. The "Yak Al-Awn" initiative, which was implemented in cooperation with the Dubai Courts and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, obtained the largest share of this aid, at a value of 19 million and 708 thousand and 634 dirhams, benefiting 136 citizens who are in financial difficulty and are being prosecuted in the Emirate of Dubai. While sick cases came in second place, with a value of four million 778 thousand and 338 dirhams, benefiting 73 sick cases, and the “relief of distress” initiative came in third place, with a value of one million 732 thousand and 684 dirhams, benefiting eight insolvent prisoners.

Rental arrears came in fourth place with a value of 391 thousand and 288 dirhams, distributed among three humanitarian cases, and in fifth place, tuition arrears came at a value of 147 thousand and 662 dirhams, and eight humanitarian cases benefited from it.

The "hotline" assistance was distributed to different nationalities, including citizens and Gulf nationals, and from Arab, Asian and African countries.

The head of the "hotline" division, colleague Ahmed Al-Mazahmy, stated that the "hotline" received 19,711,397 dirhams from charitable, governmental and private institutions during the past year, distributed to 136 humanitarian cases, and it also received aid worth seven million and 47,209. Dirhams from donors benefited 152 medical and humanitarian cases, facing difficult living conditions, and the release of insolvent prisoners.
