When you're an adult, not knowing how to ride a bike can be embarrassing: "I'm a little ashamed", confirms Candia.

This is why the Toulouse association La Maison du vélo encourages people (of all ages) to learn to get around by bicycle.

The proposed training lasts four hours, spread over four days.

“It is all the more difficult for men to assume”

“We train a very large majority of women, explains Maëlle, educator.

We do have a few men, in group and individual lessons, but this is really a minority.

My hypothesis is that the gaze of society is not obvious vis-à-vis people who do not know how to ride a bike and that I have the impression that it is all the more difficult to assume for men ".

OUR “BIKE” FILE

"At the end of the day, I'm happy to see that someone has learned to ride a bike," continues Jeremy, educator.

You can see on his face and his smile that it's super important… We even had people who told us that it was an old dream for them”.

This initiative is not unique in France, other cycling courses for adults exist in other cities.
