Egyptian woman Zubaida Abdel-Aal was deprived of education during the life of her father and husband, so she decided to break the restrictions and eradicate her illiteracy after their death at the age of 87.

Zeinab Abdel Aal is the mother of eight sons and daughters and the grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and granddaughters.

She recently enrolled in literacy classes in the Menoufia Governorate and took her first school exam in her life.

According to her statements to Egyptian news websites, Abd al-Aal prays to God to extend her life so that she can obtain a primary school certificate.

Hajja Zubaida began her academic career a few months ago within the framework of the “No Illiteracy with Solidarity” initiative implemented by the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity.

In response to the initiative official's offer to allow her to study from home due to her old age, she said: "The dream of my life is to sit on a bed, and I will not come to you to teach me... I did not believe."

To prove that age is just a number, and to fight the beliefs of her father and husband in the insignificance of girls' education and its formation as a kind of "societal shame".

Today, she sits in the classroom as a student, after spending a long life in illiteracy, and was keen to bring up children with the highest academic qualifications.

Hajja Zainab Abdel-Aal previously worked in selling simple goods in a location she chose to be in front of her children's school, so that she could follow them for fear of dropping out of education.
