According to the Fukuoka Prefectural Police Headquarters, a woman was confirmed dead after being attacked by a man on the street near JR Hakata Station in Fukuoka City after 6:00 pm on the 16th.
Investigators believe the woman was stabbed with a knife.
The man who attacked fled the scene and police are on the lookout for him.
Also, according to the fire department, the victim was a woman in her 30s.
Hotel guests near the site
A man staying at a hotel near the scene said, ``I was on the way to Hakata Station from the hotel, and I was at the scene of the incident. I put him on a stretcher and gave him a heart massage. I could see that he was bleeding."
