Two thieves seek police help in transporting their stolen goods

Authorities said that police officers in Florida (United States) arrested two thieves after one of them called 911, intending to ask the police for help in moving his (stolen) property from a house they broke into.

The chain of events of that day began to unfold around 1 a.m. when a store was robbed, the Polk County sheriff's office said, documenting the incident in an affidavit and Facebook post.

While the police were reviewing security footage from the store, one of them identified a suspect named Martin Garcia, but the authorities were unable to locate him immediately.

But later there was an emergency call to 911 but no one "talked", and a police patrol immediately inspected the house the call came from, as it was clear that no one lived there.

However, the officers found an "unlocked door" and entered the house to "make sure everything was in order".

There, police officers found the suspect, Garcia, and Garcia was arrested for allegedly robbing the store. "Liz's (the suspect's girlfriend) confession was surprising and unexpected..." the sheriff's office revealed in an official post.

She confessed to the police that she called 911 with the intention of asking the cops to help her and her boyfriend move their (stolen) belongings out of the house (the house they were robbing), and as they were trying to get to the airport, to go to New York for the weekend.”

"The police helped them with their belongings and drove them, but not to the airport but to the prison," the newspaper quoted the "Guardian" as saying sarcastically.
