Was it the same animal?

Spotted in Finistère and Ille-et-Vilaine in recent months, a wolf was this time seen in the Côtes d'Armor.

A first for this department for more than a century.

The observation took place on January 6, around 2 p.m., in the town of Ploubezre, near Lannion.

A mother and her son, who were driving, saw a wolf-like canine at the entrance to a field.

The teenager had the reflex to take out his phone and film the leggy animal, reports France Bleu.

The document was then sent to the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), which confirmed the doubts of the witnesses: it was indeed a common gray wolf.

A footprint found

The wolf fled when he saw the vehicle slowing down.

The teenager still managed to find a footprint, also authenticated by the OFB, in the cornfield where he was observed.

The first wolf recorded in Brittany was the one filmed in early May 2022 in the town of Berrien in the Arrée mountains (Finistère).

The presence of the canine has been proven in the Great West of France since 2021.
