Invited to RMC on Sunday January 15, Elie Semoun returned to Dieudonné's letter of apology to the Jewish community, published in the newspaper "Israel Magazine" last Tuesday.

For the comedian, this mea culpa is not enough to "be cleared" and it will be necessary to wait "a year, a year and a half" to judge the sincerity of his former accomplice.

Elie Semoun is not entirely convinced by Dieudonné's "apologies" to the Jewish community.

Invited to RMC on Sunday January 15, the comedian returned to the letter from his former sidekick published in

last Tuesday.

"I would like to ask forgiveness from all those whom I may have offended, shocked, hurt through some of my artistic gestures. I am thinking in particular of my compatriots in the Jewish community, with whom I humbly acknowledge having left myself go to the game of one-upmanship", wrote Dieudonné, already condemned for his anti-Semitic remarks and his racist insults.

"It's a long road of penance"

For Elie Semoun, who took his first steps on stage with Dieudonné, this letter is not enough.

"I think it's not just with a letter in a newspaper that you can be cleared of everything you've done," he said.

"It's a way of the cross, a long way of penance. We'll see in a year, a year and a half if we can trust him. That's it," continues the comedian, who emphasizes that he is still in contact with Dieudonné.

"Me, I have him regularly on the phone, so I have never been hateful towards him", he explains on RMC.

Elie Semoun claims to "respect" what he experienced with his former accomplice.

For him, their friendship remains "unwavering" even if it is necessary to "leave time to time".

"And we'll see after what we do together. It takes time to apologize, but it's still possible," he concludes.

The comedian had already spoken about the anti-Semitic excesses of his friend.

"I have the feeling of a monstrous mess. I regret that he did not remain an artist. He almost became a politician and in somewhat dark areas (…) I regret because we were really funny both“, he had lamented in the show
