The French singer of Indonesian origin had little choice: unable to differentiate the masculine from the feminine in French, she preferred to put the names in the plural.

Anggun arrived in France at the age of 20

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Anggun arrived in France at the age of 20 without knowing a single word of French.

"Your teacher was on television, wasn't it?" Asks Isabelle Morizet.

"Yes, I watched it extensively," replies Anggun, who nevertheless had great difficulty switching from Javanese to French.

"I still make a lot of mistakes between the feminine and the masculine because it doesn't exist in Indonesia", explains the interpreter of

La Neige au Sahara.

Very happy in France, Anggun nevertheless still feels the need to return regularly to her country of origin.

"In fact, going there is like recharging my batteries. My hair becomes much more beautiful, my skin does not need cream", jokes Anggun who likes the air of his country. .

And, the star also appreciates seeing "people who are good, who smile at you".

"It changes a lot from France", she underlines before concluding, very diplomatically, "But the French are also funny, even in their nervousness".
