A stamp rally where you can learn about flowers related to Dr. Tomitaro Makino, a botanist from Kochi Prefecture, started on the 13th at a shopping street in Kochi City.

This event aims to revitalize the shopping district in the center of Kochi City, where the number of visitors has decreased due to the influence of the new coronavirus. The promotion association of the shopping district planned it before it started.



Dr. Makino, who was born in Kochi Prefecture, was one of Japan's leading botanists and was active from the Meiji to Showa periods.A total of 20 posters with the characteristics of flowers related to Dr. Makino and QR codes are displayed on the pillars of the shopping district. It is pasted.



When the QR code is read with a smartphone, etc., a photo and detailed explanation about the flower will be displayed along with stamping.



Of these, when you read the QR code for the hydrangea, you will see a description that Dr. Makino discovered in the Shinetsu region and that the flowers are more elegant than hydrangeas.

In addition, there are panels on the shopping street where you can learn about places related to Dr. Makino.



Mr. Kenji Hayakawa, who planned the event, said, "I want you to enjoy it as if you were collecting plants in the city."



This stamp rally will be held until the 25th of this month, and if you collect all 20 stamps, you can apply for a lottery where you can win a special product of Kochi Prefecture.
