A 59-year-old woman was cut to death at her apartment in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, and police arrested her 86-year-old father on suspicion of attempted murder.
He has admitted to the charges and the police are investigating the details.
Masaru Narabe (86), who lives in Akashicho, Hiratsuka City, was arrested. He is accused of attempted murder after being cut with a knife.
Edami was taken to the hospital, but she later died.
Around 1:30 pm, the suspect called 110, saying, "I killed her daughter," and when the police rushed, her daughter was bleeding and collapsed.
Police arrested her father on the spot after finding something that looked like a knife with her blood on it.
By admitting the suspicion against the investigation, the police have switched the suspicion to murder and are investigating the details.
According to the Hiratsuka City Social Welfare Council, the care manager was scheduled to visit the home on the afternoon of the 13th because the father's family had consulted before the incident occurred.
