According to a previous report by the Beijing News, on December 30, 2022, the second instance of the dispute over the right to life between Jiang Qiulian and Liu Nuanxi upheld the original judgment.

The Qingdao Intermediate People's Court held that Liu Nuanxi, as the introducer of the risk of infringement and the rescued, failed to fulfill the obligations of care, rescue, and safety guarantees to the rescuer Jiang Ge, and was obviously at fault for Jiang Ge's murder. There is a legal causal relationship between the consequences of Song's death, and Liu Nuanxi should bear the liability for tort damages.

The court upheld the first-instance judgment, and Liu Nuanxi compensated Jiang Qiulian for various economic losses of 496,000 yuan, spiritual comfort money of 200,000 yuan, and assumed all case acceptance fees.

After being ordered by the court to pay nearly 700,000 yuan to Jiang Qiulian, Jiang Ge's mother, Liu Nuanxi initiated a fundraising campaign from netizens, causing controversy.

On the morning of January 4, Liu Nuanxi's Weibo account was banned, but at noon that day, a new account appeared on Weibo, which was suspected of being her, and was subsequently banned.

Jiang Qiulian's lawyer, Huang Leping, once said that according to the law, Liu Nuanxi should complete the compensation before January 9, 2023 (including that day), otherwise Jiang Qiulian can apply to the court of first instance for enforcement within two years from January 10.

On January 9, Jiang Qiulian asked the Chengyang District People's Court of Qingdao City whether she had received Liu Nuanxi's compensation. After the court inquired, she said that she had not received it yet.

Jiang Qiulian said that she had gone to the court to apply for compulsory enforcement on the same day, and the review period was seven days.
